By the age of eleven or twelve I was working on my Dad’s construction sites building flat roofed houses with floor to ceiling glass window walls….classic mid-century design. The influence has shaped my work from the beginning- in both concept and execution- where tightly crafted architectural geometry, high contrast pattern, value and color dominate. After an extended break, in the last year or two, I’ve turned to a more personal, whimsical expression. An artist friend has suggested that these paintings in oil and assorted drawing materials might be a return to the artwork we did on the covers of our “Pee Chees” in Jr. High. So be it. It goes where it goes……
